ESL has announced details for the 6th season of ESL Pro League, with the 14 European and 14 North American teams set to kick off the competition on August 22nd.
The upcoming season of ESL Pro League won't be much different from the last one as it will once feature a $1,000,000 prize pool and 14 teams per region that will battle in a double BO1 format. The games will be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, as was the case for season 5.
ESL did add "super weeks" to the mix, though, which are special weeks when matches will be played from Tuesdays till Sundays. Over the course of the season, three super weeks are set to take place.
The 6th season of ESL Pro League will start in a month
The main, English stream of ESL Pro League matches will once again be streamed on YouTube, with the video now being broadcasted in better quality—native 1080p/60fps.
Looking at the team list, the biggest name to miss out from this season of ESL Pro League is Virtus.pro, who ended up being relegated to the European division of ESEA Premier, while BIG and GODSENT went the other way, climbing from Premier to Pro.
In North America, Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen's Splyce, Rogue (ex-Enigma6) and Ghost have earned promotion to the top-tier online league and will be competing against the likes of SK, Cloud9 and Immortals in the upcoming season of ESL Pro League.
